If you’re looking for a local ramen shop in Sendai that’s not a chain, Narutoya in Natori City is definitely worth a visit.
This place has been around for over 30 years, and you can feel that history the moment you walk in.
The atmosphere is calm and stylish, with modern jazz playing in the background—something you don’t often find in ramen shops.
We visited on a Saturday around noon. Surprisingly, we were able to sit without waiting, although it’s usually a popular spot.
If you want to avoid crowds, arriving around 11:30 AM seems like a good timing.
The seating includes a few box seats for groups and counter seats for individuals or couples.
There is a shared parking lot with space for around 20 cars, so access is relatively easy.
■The Ramen
We ordered the shoyu (soy sauce) ramen.
The broth is clear but deeply flavorful, with a well-balanced richness.
The highlight is the grilled chashu pork, which adds a smoky aroma and depth to the entire bowl.
The noodles are thin and smooth, pairing perfectly with the light yet rich soup.
It’s the kind of ramen that makes you want to finish every last drop.

If you prefer a lighter but flavorful ramen, we recommend trying the shio (salt) ramen, which is even more refreshing.
Also, when you visit for the first time, you may receive a service card that allows free toppings like extra noodles, rice, or seasoned eggs—definitely a nice bonus.
